Being in a good relationship with your skin takes time, sometimes years to figure out what works best for both – your skin and you.

We got curious about your personal skin secrets  and have been catching up with inspiring people, who share their skin stories with us.

My skin story and what I struggled with

In my teens, like so many others, I never really took care of my skin. It was a case of using a quick face wash and a very basic moisturizer every day. I used to use makeup wipes and sleep in makeup after a night out in my late teens, which makes me cringe so much looking back! While my skin was never awful, it wasn't great either. My skin is still on the oily side, but it was much oilier in my teenage years. This meant I used to struggle with spots, especially on my cheeks. Although I didn't know it at the time, I also used to struggle with some mild rosacea. My skin isn't super sensitive, but it is prone to redness.

It wasn't until my early 20s that I started my skincare journey. I invested in a high-quality and pricier facial oil, and it totally helped transform my skin. From that point, I was hooked. The more I learned about skincare and what products to use for my skin, the better it got. Now, I'm totally obsessed with skincare and love learning about it!

My current skincare routine

I have an everyday AM and PM routine:

  • Gel cleanser
  • Hyaluronic acid serum
  • Vitamin C serum
  • Moisturiser
  • SPF

  • Cleansing balm
  • Gel cleanser
  • Custom rosacea prescription
  • Night cream
  • Face oil

Alongside my day-to-day skincare routines, I typically use retinol at night twice a week and an exfoliant once a week. I occasionally use face masks too, but that's every few weeks.

Practical skincare tips

My best advice for good skin is to not overcomplicate your routines, especially if you're new to the world of skincare. You don't need to do an intense 10-step routine to achieve good skin. A simple routine is very effective.

Also, try to think about your actual skin concerns when picking products. If you don't have hyperpigmentation, you don't need to get a targeted hyperpigmentation treatment.

Don't overdo it with the exfoliants either, as you can make your skin more sensitive and damage your skin barrier. Once or twice a week is ample, and only increase this if your skin has built up some tolerance.

Advice for people with acne

For people with acne, sticking to a simple routine with non-fussy formulae will be key. Think gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF in the daytime. The fewer products there are in your routine, the less likely it is that you're aggravating your acne. You could look to introduce a targeted treatment, such as Sencyr's excellent probiotics, to help fight acne too.

My experience with Sencyr

I had a fantastic experience with the Sencyr CLEANSER, Sencyr SERUM, and Sencyr probiotics. All of the formulae were very gentle, clearly researched, and easy to use. The cleanser and serum are simple, gentle products that work well, which is perfect for people with acne. For me, the probiotics are what stole the show. I tried 10 of their probiotic vials, and by day 10, my skin was softer, more radiant, and smoother. The results were immediately noticeable, and the benefits lasted in the long term. The probiotics are designed to treat acne, so incorporating them into your routine could be a serious game-changer.

How to add Sency products into a current skincare routine

It's very easy to integrate Sencyr products into your current skincare routine. First, start off with the Sencyr CLEANSER, wait for your skin to dry, and then apply the Sencyr probiotic. Once the probiotic amazingness has absorbed into your skin, apply the Sencyr SERUM, followed by a moisturizer, and SPF (daytime only).
